As a national park, there is no permanent, built-up accommodation on the island, but camping is permitted for most of the year with certain restrictions.

Town of 1770

Eight kilometres to the north of Agnes Water is the Town of 1770, a village and tourist destination on the Queensland Discovery Coast. Situated on a peninsula, with the Coral Sea and Bustard Bay on three sides, Seventeen Seventy contains holiday accommodation, restaurants, a general store, and a small marina.
